AIRPORT ARRIVAL OVERVIEW

Our Commitment to You

At your time of booking Exemplar will do all that is possible to confirm that the Trip you have requested is appropriate to your needs and that timings are practicable.

However, there are many factors outside your and our control which may affect your smooth departure from the Airport.  For example: flight delay, aircraft getting to gate late, carousel breakdown, baggage handling delays, lost baggage, etc, etc

If such occurrences affect you we will do our best to juggle arrangements to minimise your delays and inconvenience.

To be fair to the majority of passengers on your assigned Trip we commit to have your vehicle depart no later than the scheduled departure time that we have told you.

However if,

                *  you are delayed through no fault of your own,

                *  the other passengers on your trip are understanding and approving, and

                *  passengers on the vehicle's subsequent trip(s) will not be Sadversely affected,.

Then our staff have discretion to delay a departure.

If our delaying the vehicle is not possible, then you will be assigned to the next available vehicle at no extra charge.  Please note, however, that the 'next' vehicle may not have seating-availability. (Our office can advise immediately what the seating availability is on subsequent trips.) 

Your Mobile Phone

We strongly encourage you to provide us with your mobile phone number at time of booking. If you have done so please turn it on when you arrive in Cairns.   We will update you as necessary.


Punctuality of Services

To further facilitate passenger-flows our vehicles run to a strict timetable. (Read more.)  It is therefore essential that you proceed directly to your meeting point. If you miss your scheduled trip you will be assigned to the next available vehicle.

Getting From Gate to the Exemplar Desk

Domestic

On arrival follow the 'Baggage' signs:

  • pass through the shopping concourse,
  • exit through large glass doors at the far left-hand corner into the baggage collection area,
  • You will find the Exemplar Transfer Desk immediately to your left as you enter the hall.
  • Prior to collecting luggage, check in with our staff, who will offer guidance on where to meet your driver and vehicle.


International

You will find the Exemplar Transfer desk immediately to your left as you exit the Customs/Quarantine hall. Here you will locate your driver, holding a tablet or a board with your name on it.

Getting From Carousel to Vehicle

Domestic

  • Coach Transfer - you will exit the large glass doors at the far (northern) end of the baggage area and proceed to your vehicle along a covered walkway to your left. (It will be 20 metres away, most likely in Bay 14, 15 or 16 (Exemplar-exclusive bays).

  • Limousine Transfer - your vehicle will be just across the road, outside the doors adjacent to the Skybury Coffee shop in the Carousel area

International

  • Coach Transfer - you will exit the large glass doors immediately opposite the Immigration/Quarantine exit, turn left then have a very short walk.

  • Limousine Transfer - your vehicle will be just across the road, outside the doors adjacent to the Skybury Coffee shop in the Carousel area.

What to Look Out For

Our friendly staff will be uniformed in navy skirt or trousers, white blouse or shirt and navy tie or scarf.  They will be holding a board with your name on it.

What if I Can't Find an Exemplar Representative

In the unlikely event that our Concierge or driver is not there, they will probably not be far away. Simply wait at the nominated meeting point. 

If after, say 15 minutes and you still have not made contact, then ring the office on 07 4213 3333. Our base has radio and telephone contact with all vehicles and our staff will probably already know the nature of the delay.

What Happens if My Flight is Delayed?

Our office continuously monitors the flight trackers for actual arrival times and we do our best to juggle vehicles to cater for your Private transfer or, if you are a Seat-in-Coach passenger, to assign you to the next available vehicle.

WHAT TO DO ON ARRIVAL

AT DOMESTIC

Seat in Coach

·         If you have an Australian capable phone, turn it on as soon as possible. (Please provide us with your number at time of booking).

·         On arrival, walk directly to the Arrivals Hall.

·         You will find the Exemplar Transfer Desk immediately to your left as you enter the hall.

·         Check in with our staff.  (Please do this prior to collecting luggage.)

·         Our staff will offer guidance on where to meet your driver and vehicle.

·         Once you retrieve your luggage proceed to your vehicle.

Silver Service and Private Transfers

·         On arrival, walk directly to the Arrivals Hall.

·         You will find the Exemplar Transfer desk immediately to your left as you enter the hall.

·         Your driver will be found adjacent to our transfer desk holding a tablet or a board with your name on it.

·         After greeting you, your driver will escort you to your nominated luggage carousel.

·         Please note, in accordance with Cairns International Airport regulations, our drivers are prohibited from taking passengers’ luggage from the carousels.

However, they will happily assist you with luggage as you are escorted to your service.

 

     

 AT INTERNATIONAL

Seat in Coach

·         If you have an Australian capable phone, turn it on as soon as possible. (Please provide us with your number at time of booking).

·         After clearing Australian Customs and Quarantine, you will enter the Arrivals Hall.

·         Your driver will be in position at the Exemplar Transfer desk to the left, opposite side of the hall.

·         You driver will be holding a board with your name on it.   

·         Please introduce yourself to your driver. You will then be on your way.

·         Please note that Australian Customs/Quarantine clearance-times are variable. If you anticipate being delayed, please call the Exemplar Office on 07 4213 3333. Our staff will advise of the status of your assigned vehicle and, if necessary, place you on the next available transfer.

·         There is also a phone number listed at the desk which connects with our office.   Our staff there will be able to assist.

Silver Service and Private

·         If you have an Australian capable phone, turn it on as soon as possible.  (Please provide us with your number at time of booking).

·         After clearing Australian Customs and Quarantine you will enter the Arrivals Hall.

·         Your driver will be waiting 30 mins after your aircraft’s actual landing time, and will be holding a board with your name on it.

·         You will find your driver waiting at the Exemplar Transfer Desk to the left on the opposite side of the hall.

·         After making yourself known to your driver you will be on your way.

·       Please note that Australian Customs/Quarantine clearance-times are variable. If you anticipate being delayed, please call the Exemplar Office on 07 4213 3333.

Should the desk be unmanned. there is a phone number listed at the desk which connects with our office.   Our staff there will be able to assist.
